Stations and Apparatus

The Lake Geneva Fire Department operates out of four strategically located stations to ensure efficient and timely response across our service area. Each station is equipped with specialized apparatus and staffed by highly trained personnel, ready to respond to emergencies ranging from fire and medical calls to technical rescues and water incidents. Here’s a closer look at our facilities and the resources housed at each location:
Station 281

Lake Geneva (Headquarters)

Located at 730 Marshall Street, Station 281 serves as the department’s main headquarters and is the busiest of all stations. It houses a broad range of essential apparatus, including Engine 281, Tower 281, Squad 281, and multiple ambulances—Med 281, Med 282, and Med 285. The station also includes several command vehicles (Car 281, Car 282, Car 284, and Car 285) and Utility 281, ensuring a full complement of resources for fire, EMS, and rescue operations. In addition to emergency response functions, this station also supports administrative operations and serves as a training and coordination hub for the department.
Station 282

Water Tower Station

Station 282, located at 1003 Host Drive, plays a supporting role in the department’s overall operations and ensures coverage in the northern area of the response district. It currently houses Engine 282 and is strategically positioned to provide quicker response to fire-related incidents in that sector of the community. Though smaller in size, this station remains a vital component of the department’s regional readiness and coverage.
Station 283

Town of Linn Station

Located at N1457 Hillside Road, Station 283 serves the Town of Linn and surrounding rural areas. This station is equipped for a wide variety of responses, including structural fires, EMS, water rescues, and rural firefighting support. Apparatus housed here includes Engine 283, Engine 285, Med 283, and Med 284, along with Car 283 and Utility 283. The station also features Tender 283 and Tender 284, essential for water supply in areas without hydrants, as well as two rescue boats—Boat 283 and Boat 284—for lake and waterway emergencies.
Station 284

Reserve Storage Facility

Station 284, located at 1065 Carey Street, functions as the department’s reserve and specialty apparatus storage facility. While it is not an active response station, it houses important supplemental resources including Utility 282, Boat 281, and MCU 281 (Mobile Command Unit). These assets are deployed as needed for major incidents, special events, or regional support through mutual aid.
