The Lake Geneva Fire Department (LGFD) is a combination department made up of dedicated full-time and part-time professionals proudly serving the City of Lake Geneva, the Town of Geneva, and the Town of Linn. Operating out of four locations, our department delivers a wide range of essential services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), public education, and technical rescue operations. Our primary response area consists of approximately 50 square miles. However, our services are available throughout northern Illinois and southeast Wisconsin via MABAS.

To strengthen our community by providing the highest level of service and care for all its citizens and by valuing our Fire Department members, promoting positive leadership, and dedicating ourselves to personal and professional growth each and every day.

The Fire Prevention Bureau is tasked with the responsibility of performing fire inspections, building plan review, job site inspections, and public education. The Fire Prevention Bureau is staffed with three part-time inspectors. For permits, ordinances, fees, and applications, please visit our page.
